Lumi-Kon F40T12 Ballast

Lumi-Kon F40T12 Ballast

A Lumi-Kon 2-lamp F40T12 High Power Factor ballast... I've seen plenty of these, but only the small-sized shoplight/residential Low Power Factor version, never a full-sized HPF like this one.

Got this light at a garage sale along with 2 others & some crappy 34w Alto bulbs (i have no need for this light its just gonna be put away LOL)...

These look like the residential version of HPF ballast. They are dimmer than regular commercial ballasts which have line current of at least .73a, and up to .80 on the older ones.

I have a couple Universal versions of that. I replaced one of them with a real HPF ballast and it was noticeably brighter.

Yeah i'd call it a 'residential HPF ballast' ... or maybe they should call these MPF (Medium Power Factor) ballasts LOL. Not quite as powerful as a true HPF, not as wimpy as a LPF

I haven't compared brightness between it & other lights (yet), maybe i will this weekend before putting the light away.

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...
