Here's the starters in the "Pre-Historic" Mitchell preheat F40 shop light. Fixture could use a repaint, and the inner wiring is showing its age of 60-70 years, but this beauty still fires right up when plugged in and is still giving me light in 2016!

I would leave it as is if it is working. It has character!

I love diesel engines, rural/farm life and vintage lighting!

It does definitely have that! Sure a lot brighter than today's LED stoplights, too, even with deluxe daylight lamps, a notoriously dim color.
