These were made abroad as the shape was wrong and I was disappointed when I checked them out in my hotel to see they were the European (rest of the world) shape and not that USA shape I remembered from a previous trip. They cost $2.29 Canadian money. Does anyone know if this make is still going and is Eatons still there, it was in Yong St.

Are these light bulbs rough service?

Hi Phil, no they were sold as long lasting and they had a normal filament, shape of a horse shoe or wreath not the zig zag seen on RS lamps. By using a higher voltage lamp (130V) this extends life also these were used in places where its difficult to get to the lamps and long service life is needed, I must add that not all RS lamps have the zig zag or double wreath and the larger US types have a strong filament which is well supported as the European but not Coil Coil they would be too fragile.

These bulbs were made in Poland by Polam Pabjanice who also made the Pila brand bulbs over in Europe. They used to export plenty of cheap bulbs out here to USA and Canada. Globe is still around, they are occasionally sold in the USA but more common in Canada. Their bulbs are now Chinese junk.

May all the great lighting technologies have their place in history.

Here we see this shape on imported or rough-service bulbs...which are usually inside-frost as well...
Anyone know who made the old "Western Family" soft whites with the V-shaped filament and brass base?

I just picked one of these up. There are several different Globe brand names but yours has the same logo as mine with the funny O in globe. Mine is a 100 watt and in addition to the "Long Life" on the emblem it also says "Longue Duree". Mine has a brass base with the bulb ratings also stamped on the base.

Yours is probably intended for the Canadian market...that "longue duree" is French. (Parts of Canada are blingual, with French being another major language)
