This is suitable if you want to increase the distance of the lamp from the base of the fixture, as in the case of these huge globes which contains 40W 24V incandescent lamps .
It can't made in China, if it was made in the 70's or the 80's. We hadn't chinese stuff then.

I"m don't speak english well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I hope that LED won't replace all forms of other lighting.

These are for lights where the lamp is hard to reach and pulling out the dead lamp and pushing in its replacement is easier than screwing out/in lamps.
