I may be wrong but I get the feeling it may have become a common practice to add getters to the jacket at the end before the SOI/H lamp phased them out. Interestingly the Dewar shown here is actually labelled "LADDEX" and was made in England. I don't have any other examples of lamps with LADDEX on them

i grew up witth many of these 60w versions and it could be seen with an end of life lamp the erratic flashing of the starter trying to strike the lamp staying in a deep red state and rarely a stuck starter would make the ends and sometimes one end glow red.

Keeping the weird away.
I know the inbetweeners game.
Always looking out for the caravan rats.

Weren't these lamps operated with leak transformer ballasts..?

but you are correct,only ever used on rather big leak ballasts,i have never tried to fire one of these up on modern ignitor gear, so im not sure of how it woul behave.
