Internal leak

Internal leak

This lamp has lost some starter gas into the outer jacket. I think the lamp has leaked from the seal-off pinch at the u-bend. The lamp looked fine but running like this will soon turn the base black or pop the internal fuse.

Great photo! The lamp looks like it would have had some life left in it if it hadn't leaked, I also doubt the lead-in wires where the arc is being formed will last long. Is there a thermal fuse in these?

Thanks, the lamp would have had a good bit of life left had it not leaked. There is no themal fuse just an internal fuse link rated at about 1 - 2A.
