Totally cool! The etch should be easy to figure the exact date on these I think. Also, if it doesn't say "Philips" anywhere on the sleeve it would definitely be early 80's.

On the Sleeve there is No Date just the Safety instructions and Westinghouse Electric Corp, Lamp Division, Bloomfield, New Jersey, Made in USA 5CBT25 and written in pencel it has 6240-00-959-4722.

In the Lamp it has
X (underlined) (Westinghouse Logo) 6 (underlined),
H38HT-100,
Lifeguard,
100w Mercury,
USA

I am guessing the X6 is the Date Code

I have some that are "X9" and was told they are '69....so, I wonder if yours could be '66 or '76? Couldn't be '86 because there would be "Philips" on the sleeve and maybe lamp.

I agree, as by 1983 Philips took over Westinghouse however I do have other 100w Mercurys by Westinghouse the same but with Coated Bulb and Elleptical (Philips) and a modern 100 watt Wersinghouse MErcury LAmp with Fluorescent Coating but with the ED23-5 bulb, I shall dig out my 100w Mercurys.
