These types of bulbs are usually used in main bundles of some types of vehicles, mostly in very expensive cars. But there is also a model D2S 50W which is for use in medical machines or cinema projector. About the compact size and performance a little higher than the 35W CMH, there is a super compact xenon bulb, such as 25 watts, but with an output of 114 lumens per watt, and integrated ballast and ignitor in the lamp itself.

Remembering that military or professional lanterns, such as the Polarion PH50, tend to use an automotive lamp, only filled with mercury needing 85 volts AC, on a battery generating at the ballast input, 13.2 to 14 volts DC.
