Zero 88 Lighting Controls Rule!

Deleting unused Usernames « on: October 18, 2009, 04:21:43 PM » Author: lightman64
I have noticed that a lot of random people sign up and make a username on this form but never are active. (At all!!!) Would it be possible for an admin to delete all the usernames that go unused within a certain date threshold.?

Not trying to be mean or anything, I would never do that, but there are SO many usernames that go unused and just take up space!
                                                      -Thanks, Lightman64

If the administrator plan on doing the house cleaning, they need to send out the email to see if they are still interested or not.

I also suggest that if they want to do this, they need to resolve gallery uploading problem first before they can do that.

I think if any unused contributors posted pictures should be left on the database.  I think it is still interested for future user who wants to browse and/or research these pictures.

Yes, the administrators do delete users who have been inactive for a length of time, have no posts, and haven't uploaded any photos.  We also do reach out to these users to see if they wish to keep their account.

Space on the forum is not an issue.  A few years ago, it was, but currently, there is plenty of space.

A user's pictures and profile never gets deleted if they have albums on the site.  We do leave these accounts on so others can view the photos.

As far as certain members experiencing difficulties uploading pictures, what problems specifically are you having?  I'll try to find out what to do in order to fix this matter for you guys.  Please send me a PM to let me know...rather than changing the subject of this thread.

Thanks...   Smiley

Brian, at the moment, nobody can upload! we all get the same error, impossible to move!

Personally, I'm not sure if any of this is ever going to be resolved...

Okay, I am going to try to upload something myself and see what happens.  Please sit tight and I'll follow up with my findings.

I have deleted a lot of unused user names in the past. There was a lot...How I normally handle this is if a name is unused and never active and never once signed on for about 3 months minimum, normally the get deleted by me.
