Problems when moving multiple pictures from one album to another « on: July 23, 2010, 01:03:05 AM » Author: dor123
When i click the "Apply Changes" button it returns an error message: "Critical Error: Script called without the required parameter(s). (user345341)", and refuse to move several of my pictures.
If you want a picture of this error screen i can upload to you.
Please take care about this.

The script retrieves values from all the fields that should exist on the page.  For some reason, the "user3" field (Wattage) did not exist for Picture 45341 (The lighting of Horev center of Haifa).  All input fields should always be present on the page, even if they are left blank.  This error could occur if the page never fully loaded.  When you submit the form, use the Apply Modifications button at the bottom of the page rather than the Enter key.  The Enter key will function even if the page has not completely loaded, but the Apply Modifications won't be there if the page is incomplete.  Let me know if the error happens again and whether or not any fields (e.g., Model Number, Wattage, Lamp Type, etc.) appeared to be missing from the page.

Just make sure the entire page has loaded including the Apply modifications button at the bottom before you submit the form.  If an error occurs anyway or the page won't load completely, let me know.

I have again recive this "Script called without the required parameter(s). (user3xxxxx)" message, with many of my old pictures, when i trying to move them to new albums. This accur every time i click the apply modifications within the "edit files" even if i don't makes any change.
When i move one picture at a time but using the "edit file information", this problem don't accurs.
I think that this is a problem with the site itself.
Please take care about this.

dor123, sometimes this error occurs if the page doesn't load completely.  I've decreased the default number of pictures to display on the edit page from 25 to 5 in order to lower the size of the page.  Try it again again and see if it works better with fewer photos visible.

Patrik: But i had to move tens of pictures at the same time, so decreasing the number of pictures to display at the same time, does made things more harder to do.
I tryed to view the maximum amount of picture allowed, to make the majority of the files moves in much less passes.
Also, it will be good, if you add an option dedicated to moving files from one private or public album to another, since LG now asks me to add a description to my old pictures that i want to move.
Generally, LG are compatible with Firefox? Otherwise i don't find any reason for the "Edit multiple files" page to not to be loaded completely if there are many pictures at the same time.

As it turns out, my updates didn't change the default after all.  I just added the 5 and 15 options, so you can select them if showing more pictures causes problems.  It will still default to 25, and I will leave it that way.   If you continue to have difficulty, first look at the page and see if all of the fields are visible for all photos.  Album is first and Efficacy is last.  Most likely if any are going to be missing, they will be at the bottom of the page.  If it looks like they are all there, submit the form (even if the error occurred on a previous attempt).  Let me know if the you see the error and whether or not it appeared that the page was complete.  I am not aware of any Firefox incompatibilities.

I can understand how being asked to enter a title and description for every picture when you only want to move them or make some other minor change would be a nuisance.  I have removed this requirement when editing an album for the time being.  The title and description will still be required when uploading new pictures.  I will probably re-enable the feature for album edits at a later date, once people have had more time to update their existing pictures.

Patrik, when displaying 25 pictures at a time, the moving successfully did. However when displaying the maximum amount of picture allowed (100) at a time, the site returns the "Script called without the required parameter(s). (user3xxxxx)" message.
Should i wait until the whole page completely loaded before starting to edit and move files?

I was able to replicate this issue myself.  The page is loading completely, so that is not the cause.  The problem seems to be that we're hitting a limit on the size of the form, and while the entire form displays on the screen, not all of the data is received by the script.  I've changed the maximum number of pictures you can edit to 50 for the time being, since errors will occur with the 75 and 100 options.  Sorry for any inconvenience.
