4 Foot Power Groove Watt-Miser « on: March 04, 2014, 10:13:02 PM » Author: mbulb146
Just saw this on eBay.  I didn't know energy-saving versions of the 48" 1500mA power groove or VHO existed.  Looks pretty rare to me:

Here are some more, but more expensive.
But since they don't make them any more I think they are collector items. ;)
I think you can still get the 8 foot from GE, but not the four foot.

I would like to have two, but I think they are a little high on price and I would bet that there a still a few laying around in the back shelf of a stock room somewhere as they are not all that old.

The price has now been reduced and the one above never got a bid @ $26.
Must not be a hot seller. :-[

Here are seven NOS F72PG17CW as a set.
I think you can still buy the 8 foot PG new from GE last time I checked.
But I can't find any F72PG17 CW listed.
Is this a rare bulb?

I have some F72 power groove tubes in Daylight.  They came in those 6 tube fixtures I got several years ago.  They were service station lights.

I'd like to rescue a service station fluorescent light someday.  They are a rapidly vanishing thing, most operating gas stations don't have them any more.  Do you have one restored and operational?

They are operational, but unfortunately beyond full possible restoration.  Mine are all missing the lenses and the housings are badly damaged.  Surprisingly, there were only two broken tubes and only one dead tube and two bad ballasts (only because the cases rusted through and ruined the wires and internals).  I have four working units, plus several spare tubes, but no lenses or lens frames. There are a couple places nearby that have similar lights and at least one is still powered up and fairly regularly serviced.  It is a 4 tube HO and has a good lens.
