Cool LED lights in Monticello, GA « on: October 21, 2014, 09:17:39 AM » Author: bryantm3
I didn't have my camera with me, but in Monticello, GA, which is about 50 miles outside of Atlanta, they are replacing their sodium vapour lights with LED lights. I wasn't even sure what they were at first; the light source was on the bottom of the fixture, and just looked like a flat illuminated circle. They apparently have some type of diffusion lens on them. And the colour... it was very similar to the colour of brand new mercury lights. It was in the 5000-6000K range, a slight bluish tint. And they weren't so awfully glarey and bright, they were just the right brightness. I wish I had brought my camera, but I didn't know I would be taking pictures of anything. I think even those who are not impressed with LEDs would find these fixtures acceptable, i just don't know what brand or model they are.
