http://www.ballasts.com/robertson-sp258asome sort of bot? The Robertson SP258 /A is a Magnetic Ballast that operates (1) F25T12 lamp 120 at 120V This ballast is great for areas that require normal lighting! Armed with a Pre-heat starting method, this ballast is used in office, board rooms, and retail. Also operates Fluorescent lamps.

I need the 25w chokes too, but two .30a chokes parallel does a good job for now.

"Armed with a Pre-heat starting method" Can't...stop...laughing! About the only thing that would make this worse is "ideal for use in light fixtures".

More funny stuff: Specifications Type: Electronic Fluorescent Start Method: Preheat Rapid Start Lamps: one F40T12 Input Voltage: 120V Lamp Wiring: Parallel Electronic? Preheat rapid start? one f40t12? Parallel wiring? I thought you used serial on chokes.

The thing is, preheat f30 and above ballasts in 120v land have to be autotransformers or the lamp won't work. I've seen a member (nicksfans) strike an f30t12 with a single 20w choke.

Down with lamp bans!

@sol: Check this out. As far as the "offices, board rooms, and retail" thing goes, I'd like to see ONE board room that contains an F25T12 lamp/ballast.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

My homemade 2xf25t12/28" fixture looks like something that'd be installed in some rooms at my hi skool. The rooms that were unaffected by demolition or renovation still have some f40 wraparounds in them, but I'm not completely if they're original condition or retrofitted. I have seen some f40t12 black lights, but new. I asked the teacher about them, but they were used for dances, otherwise I'd've gladly taken them.

yes that page is just chock full of FAIL! btw i use the 25w type to get good output from f20t12 vitalites. they are less efficient and then most ballasts underdrive them. there was a .4 amp sylvania i used on the last batch but they are extinct.

True... But I think it means that this is for use in general light fixtures, not appliances

I'd like to see user reactions when they try to use that with what they really got in the conference room, such as a 32 T8..... (it would just keep flashing with FS2 or do nothing with FS4 starter)
