The amount of them varies in which part of Florida you are in:
Modern: Never seen one ever.
Rough-Edged: 1 per about 10 homes.
Country: Nearly every house has one.
Farm: Usually has one, but a couple don't.
Beach: Same as Modern, likely because of the strict Turtle policies. ( Update: after going there, it turns out that most (all?) buildings/houses have a bucket light of some kind)
Low Population(Longwood, Apopka, etc.): 1 per 15 homes.

Those things are Industrial by appearance (though their suitability for actual industrial use is questionable), so dont try to confuse yourself that they are not. Its a matter of why does anyone think that Industrial means unsuitable for home..

 - Are the "modern" areas lit by brighter streetlights, that spill more into private property ?

 - Are the "modern" areas built in a different architecture, that makes the lights redundant ? (example : multi storey buildings with entrance hall, that is lit by indoors lighting, so no direct entry from outside straight into spmebody's living space)

 - Are the houses in the "modern" areas more dense togehter ? (less garden space between neighboring houses or between house and road ?)

 - Do houses in the "modern" areas have other type of outdoors lighting installed on them ? If yes, how much and how bright ? Do they stay on all night or not ? - And in the areas with the "blasters", are the "blasters" on all night or not ?

 - Do mostly richer peeps live in the "modern" areas ?

My modern, I mean semi-rich, sleek modern design homes with owners that would think the blasters are too not-modern and ugly.
