NOS (Sort-of) M-250R1 « on: October 27, 2017, 12:02:30 PM » Author: M250R201SA
I found an old burnt out M-250R1 about a year ago that was all beat up (as far as paint goes), had burnt out ballast that was wired only for 208 volts, had a bad capacitor, and most likely a bad ignitor.  I couldn't really test it because I only have 120 and 240v in my house, nothing in between.  So I sent it to McCann Lighting (Streetlight98) and he restored it to NOS condition.  He installed a new ballast, ignitor, capacitor, wiring, and since it didn't come with a PC Receptacle, he found one of those, and installed and wired it up a PC Receptacle.  I just got it back (I had to wait until I had the money to pay for shipping), but I was so impressed with the work he did, it looks like it came from a professional.  As far as I am concerned, he IS a professional actually.  Some pics below show his work, and it powered on.  He included a new lamp, and PC Control.  I am currently using my homemade shorting cap for it though.  But I am extremely impressed.  I paid him with a Brand New HOP (Hot off the press) M-250R2 that had been manufactured about a week before he received it (2 days before I received it) from GE which turned out to be an accidental shipment.  I had no money, and he didn't have a HOP NIB M-250R2.  Anyway, Thanks Mike for all your hard work!  I really appreciate it.  I would like everyone to know Mike (Streetlight98) worked extremely hard to turn this lawn ornament into a functioning Luminaire again.

He did an excellent job turning this derelict lawn ornament which was probably in operation from 1979-2012, and made it look like it came from the factory.
