okay so my 70 watt hps fixture started cycling today and i dont have any more 70 watt lamps so i put in a new ge 150 watt lamp, will this hurt the ballast or anything? it runs about the same brightness just the colour is very orange like a lps

You might overload the ballast and cook it.. just throwing it out there Canadian tire had the 70 watt HPS on sale by me for like $6 you should look at the one by you, they are a NOMA so not the best quality but they work ..

Your ballast will likely overheat and it may shorten your lamp life also. If you're in need of more 70w lamps, then check out This site , its where I've been getting some of my HID lamps at pretty good prices and they are located in Ontario Canada.
