this picture is taken from my bedroom window. It's MV streetlight and uses probably 125W lamp(not sure). These are very popular lights in here Rovaniemi especially in smaller streets but they dont instal new ones anymore. I dont know if these are even manufactured anymore. I dont know the modelname or even manufacturer. This one they turn off after midnight but there are two others in this street which will be lighted whole night.

Just how deep does the snow get there if that fixture is mounted on such a tall pole?

This is pretty common pole in here. There is even longer version available. we usually have here about 50-100cm of snow depending little on winter. I think they tried spread the light wider so they put tall pole(less poles&fixtures more savings). Distance between two poles is pretty long thou. Because design of these fixtures there is usually no need to use your own yard light because these light so well your yard(save your own electricity).
