Multi-PL-S CFL fixture

Multi-PL-S CFL fixture

Click to view full size image

A ceiling fixture at the building I work at that has lost its cover, revealing three 13w, 2-pin CFLs with individual Robertson choke ballasts. Like everywhere else in the building, lamps are mixed color temperatures which annoys me greatly. You can also see two are Philips and one is Sylvania. Not sure what the black box in the center is, but I'll guess it's a capacitor for power factor correction.

Interesting fixture. The colour mix is indeed annoying.

Not very happy with the current mess on this site.

The black box in the middle is indeed a power factor correcting capacitor.

I agree, mixing all kinds of CCT lamps is nothing short of 'I don't care about appearance, as long as it lights up' maintenance practices.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
