70w PAR-38 HPS

I had been looking online for a spare lamp to have on hand for my GE Miser floodlight that uses a rare R-38 reflector HPS lamp. They are still available at insane prices around $120+. Ever since I saw Colin's Ceramalux PAR-38 HPS lamp for coal mines, I've been hoping I could find one for this very fixture as it seems more appropriate than an indoor-style reflector lamp. I was shocked when I came across this lamp and for under $50. I don't know what company made it, though it looks like a Philips arc tube. It's definitely much newer than Colin's lamp. It is absolutely beautiful when lit though does not have a dichroic coating.

Oh wow, what a find! Wonder about using these in area lights so as to not irritate neighbors?

These are actually still made?

Nice find Arcblue. When I see these thin glass PAR's, I think Asian made (Korea)...but who knows.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.
