it nice to have. but i like the real deal better.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

You're lucky these vintage replica bulbs are quite easy to buy over there, here all we can buy locally are the rubbish halogen retrofit GLS bulbs or CFL's.

Traffic signals & street lighting engineer. Please bring SOX/LPS back Downunder!!

Wow, at home depot? I'll have to go reinvestigate...

Bring SOX lamps back!!!

FYI, LED's are NOT the most efficient lighting technology available! Don't know how people keep coming to that conclusion!

My other interests: sports cars, refrigeration, microcontroller projects, computer hardware, and any sort of custom fabrication.

I have mixed feelings about those halogen GLS lamps Al_M. They look UGLY when used in a clear envelope, but I don't mind them when used in a pearl envelope. I guess I don't have much other choice for filament lighting nowadays, aside from the smaller 25 & 40W GLS incandescents some shops stock. I've started stocking up on both those 25 & 40W incans and the 75 - 100W (equivalent) halogens while they are still exempt from the ban.
