Portable flourescent lantern repair

This lantern was not working anymore as the 6V lead acid battery was dead. I've ordered a new battery at Amazon for about 10 Euro and installed it into the lantern.
Was a quick solder job and now I let it charge to get it full. It was already firing up when I quickly tried it.

Other people would throw away such a thing but not me. Portable flourescent lanterns like this are not available anymore as LED is everwhere...

Well done! Portable fluorescent lights are not available anymore, so the only option is to repair the existing ones. Now it's ready to kill more tubes.

If the PCB starts to fail, I would replace the faulty component instead of putting everything on the trash.

LED will never beat other lamps.

I have numerouse of those, they all only need batteries and maybe tubes, and will last for many more years

The ones i like more are the metal body EM ones made for permanent installation, sometimes with EXIT printed on the diffuser but otherwise they are just 18/20W or 8W lantenrs with an EM circuit
