This one was sorta inspired by xmaslightguy. I have three NIB sets of 200 each LED Christmas lights. Even with all three plugged in, it would not light off the starter. With one C-7 lamp screwed in the other string, it would flash. With two C-7s, it would light but was badly underdriven. With three C-7s, it would light well. The LEDs do not really like to be underdriven. You probably cannot see the shimmer, but they act really weird! This was fun! I will include links to videos of this and the "fan ballast" one too!

LEDs take so little power, you'd probably need at least twice that many for it to work LOL
Also most brands of LEDs only pass half-wave ... so the fluorescent may never light (although if it did maybe you'd get a mercury migration )

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

OMG! I tried both 15- & 25-strings sets of LED retrofit C7's & got barely a flicker from the tube! Guess I'm off by quite a few! A 25-string of 5w incandescents, no problem!
