One of the new LED emergency lighting fixtures at the parking lot of the Cinemall mall

It looks like a very low quality home made light with just 4 LED strips with cables on a board, enclosed inside a prismatic plastic cover that screwed to the ceiling with screws.
Looks more like a toy, than a practical light. This is also my feeling about the chinese LED floodlights and several LED lanterns as well.

I think it is a nice light fixture. leds are so efficient they are really a great leap in solid state lighting but I agree the governments should not shove cfls down our throats as they do have a small amount of mercury and mercury is toxic and fatal if swallowed.

True... Although there is a risk from Mercury if handled properly they are safe. The future of lighting does look to be sold state it just has to mature.
