Today's find in a kind of a restore shop, 2 pieces. They seem to have heavy use but still work. As well, I guess they have no cathode guards. Will investigate this further tomorrow.

Classic tube in a great colour, well worth saving! The blackening shape would indeed suggest no shields.

Thanks for your comments! Yes, indees they have no shields, as James said correctly it is visibe from the blackening pattern. If they are lighted up, thereā€˜s an electrode clearly visible.

These were the best in these series! I can remember a lot of these on my school, were lasting quite long as i can remember. No cathode guards at all, started in the generation after these. Nice lamp! The 2 dots are the date code??

I have a Philips 8w tubedoing the same thing as this one side of it looks perfectly fine the other looks like eol is imminent
