Shame it doesn't work, 34 Deluxe is my favourite colour (produces blue end banding) but they are almost non existent here now.

Traffic signals & street lighting engineer. Please bring SOX/LPS back Downunder!!

It's Nov. 1973! The /34 was dicontinued in the early 80's in favour of the new efficient 94 (940) white De Luxe.

You could short the open end and move the starter out of circuit and it should run.

NNNN!

@ prismatic; good luck

@kev; i believe that the change between the crimped and the later endcaps was around '72-'74.
all my new TL-M 40W/34RS from May 73 are having the crimped ones...

This is an odd tube. It's indeed from 1973 (November) but it's not a regular Dutch /34 tube: font type is slightly different and the symbol indicates production location Hamilton, UK. The "imp" may stand for imported. My guess is that this tube was not for the UK market but for export to other West-European countries.
I also noticed that the UK hardly ever got "De Luxe" colors from Philips at that time. All I have seen so far are with mediocre CRI like color /29, /33, 35...

Philips colour 27: best fluorescent tube colour.

Definitely November 1973.

We do not have to agree on anything to be kind to one another. The ability to be civil is available to everyone on earth, for free.
