nice find! its intereting
i wonder if that would be bad for your health to light it up, especially to have them everywhere
id say wear sunglasses or put it under glass if you light it up

That girl looks way too happy about the sunshine fluorescent lamp!

Nothing like the beautiful cool white light of a coated Mercury Vapor lamp and the soothing hum of it's magnetic ballast.

Now that is interesting I never knew there is such a Sun-tanning fluorescent light sold for retail in the 1950's. I wonder if it glow like low pressure clear mercury germicidal lamp glow with opaque coating

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

I guess skin cancer didn't exist back then.

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.

According to this hebrew Ynet article: http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/1,7340,L-2692853,00.html (Use Google Translation), Suntanning fluorescent lamps, have the ability to produce X10 more UV radiation than the natural sunlight.
In the time of this ad, the connection between these lamps and skin cancer, was yet to be known.
