Do Christmas lights in Europe have the UK or Euro plug and 240V worth of lights wired in series, or is configuration for a 24V transformer more common?

Only one set is using the 250v to 24v the 400 set, rest is series from mains plug, but i think the noma set down powers the set through the green box you see there,

Techno, Lightning, PS3, Lights, Furry, Random bloke.
