I agree it is GARBAGE! The same setup that they have in the Home Depot near me. Some of their LEDs on the display are EOL.

Save the Cooper OVWs!! Don't them down by crap LED fixtures!!!

Looks like the same stuff I see at the stores around me.

And thinking of 'quality': There's a few different Home Depot's that I'll stop in, and they had this one model of ceiling fan with a LED light...the light was EOL flickering on that particular one at every store. What a high-quality piece of crap

One nice change at my nearby Home Depot is that the 2xF96T12 fixture was finally lit up nice and bright. It seems it's usually dim if not out altogether.

The “dead” LED fixture has a pull chain on it. Mebbe try pulling it and see if it will turn on?

Why I like LEDs on top of other lighting tech?
LEDs = Upgrade 95% of the applications. (That is if you avoid eBay's LEDs).

LED brainwash? No, people uses them cuz they work well for them.

I tried out an LED shoplight last summer. I had decent hopes for it but when I got it home I plugged it in and it didn't come on. Instead it let out a pop and out came this nasty smoke from the powersupply. Smelled like a cap went bust. I tried to disassemble it and maybe fix the issue but I could not get it open so I bought it back and got a refund. When I was buying it I had even made effort to pick the best looking box to further avoid problems.

I'll just stick to fluorescent because it doesn't have these issues and when it does I can fix it no problem with the many parts and supplies I have on hand. I'll give it more time for LED to mature and the bugs to be worked out before I try again. Mainly in quality and especially in self repairability. If I need LED, the LED tubes and LED filaments will more than do

I'm not sure the term "EOL" applies to these lights when they fail prematurely. EOL would imply that they performed at least their rated hours.

EOL is literally End Of Life. Whether it lasted one minute out of a 50k hours rated lifespan or 200k hours past that lifespan rating. It simply ceased to glow. Been like that for years, well before LEDs was a thing in here.

I work in the lighting industry in WA State.

The term used there is "BO", burn-out.

When I work in the electronics industry, "EOL" is applied to parts that are discontinued, the manufacturers send out a EOL notice detailing when it will become unavailable and what might be a cross-ref

The BO part is new for me. Never heard of it before. I’ve seen EOL used in other industries like servers and mainframes.

I dunno when we started using EOL in here though. Lemme see if searching it in here would tell me.

Edit: found one. As old as this site almost. https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=60&pid=22919
