Brass Wall Sconce

Brass Wall Sconce

Click to view full size image

Back in 1997, I was remodeling my bedroom. I wanted a wall fixture similar to this, as a friend of mine had a similar fixtures in their house. I couldn't find one, but used a different 2 bulb fixture that worked well enough.

I picked this up at the ReStore in Mason City, Iowa. That house has long since been sold and I don't have any current or anticipated need for it, but it was what I wanted back than, and was $5, so I picked it up anyway.

My grandma has that same light in her bathroom, and from 1995. I remember it used to have early CFLs in it that took a while to come to full brightness. Now it has LEDs in it though.

My sister has a light of the same style, but hanging, & single-lamp above here diningroom table...she wants to 'replace the hideous thing' (a task that when/if it happens, I'll likely be the one to do. Wouldn't want the light myself, so rather than trashing, I'll leave it at the ReStore for someone else)

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

I think I seen those ones you were talking about. There were a few different styles with these ribbed glass. But now these polished brass fixtures are considered terribly outdated. I like them myself though.

Almost every ReStore I've been to lately has at least one 3 or 5 lamp chandelier that uses these same glass shades and trim rings.

I don't really like these brass fittings. However, I quite like the glass. They are reminiscent of Holophane shades.

That's true on the shades. I really like the 5 lamp chandelier version in white or polished brass.
