Abandoned Quartermoon

Abandoned Quartermoon

Click to view full size image

This light is on a pole along US 190 just west of Newton, TX. I've been driving by it frequently since October and finally stopped to take a picture. Newton County is mostly lit by mercury, and I'm assuming this one is too, though it has no lamp in it. There is another mercury quartermoon dayburning in downtown Newton.

Dude this is not a admiral hat, they look similar...but above is actually a Quartermoon.......I have one at my bedroom....Geoff owns an admiral hat....an admiral hat tend to have a flatter bottom while Quartermoon is more curved with 2 points like above......but an admiral hat would also have 2 piece sheilds one in back and one on front added which makes it look a little more like a quartermoon but still would lack 2 points...

Hmm I guess they're not that great with lighting maintenance then lol.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

That's strange and I see the polymer insulators so lineman have been on that pole in recent years.
