A widespread russian lantern, mostly used during the final decade and a 5-10 years or so after the collapse of the Soviet Union. This lantern used to light roads and yards. There were several manufacturers and several model modifications. Body of the fixture was made out of steel in most versions (although some of them were made of aluminum). Wattage ranged from 125-400 watt, mainly mercury vapour lamps were used, although some rarer models were made for sodium vapour lamps. These fixtures had a very poor protection from the elements, body, insides and in older models, reflectors would rust considerably, and in some more extreme cases, birds would nest inside the ballast chamber.

The reflector looks the same as in a former East Germany streetlight.

Indeed, the reflectors are almost identical, though NARVA LBL fixture's reflector is constructed from better materials, and with better reflecting aluminum polishing and refinement.
