Electronic 250w HID ballast

Electronic 250w HID ballast

I dont post much anymore as I rarely come across anything interesting in the field as of late, lots of LED installations and retrofits in recent years, and who wants to see that?
However, today I serviced some large 250w MH wall-sconce uplighters in a big auditorium, mostly just relamping, though there were a couple dead ballasts. Assuming they used regular M58 core/coil ballasts I had capacitors at the ready...only to find these compact electronic ballasts inside instead. The luminaires actually were too low profile to fit a standard M58 magnetic ballast in the gear compartment, so I had to search for these same BallastWise E-ballasts and order them for this job.
I took one of the dead ones home to have a look, the ballast case is filled completely with potting compound, otherwise I wouldve posted a pic of the board too. These also make no mention of any ASNI code on the label, simply 250w MH lamp. The lamps installed in the fixtures at the job were a mix of probe and pulse start 250w.

Do you know how long the ballasts lasted?

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

They have a date of 2009 on them, but that is the manufacture date. I have no idea when these fixtures were actually put into use.
