Westinghouse 230 Volt 10 Watt Red And Yellow Double Contact Based S6

Came in a lot of 4 yellow and 4 red from eBay. The yellow has the bulb etch only visible when lighted and the red has markings on the base. On the red they actually used the old no dot W logo to mark for 10 watt and placed in between watts and volts on this one. Lighted pictures to follow.

No these don't go into an vehicle since they are rated at 230 volts. I had seen those types for automotive use such as the 1157A for use for your ford maverick back in the day. On the 1157 bulbs, those won't fit in just any typical double contact bayonet sockets since one locking pin sits up higher than the other, they are meant for special double contact sockets since those bulbs are a 2 circuit and the base becomes an common ground, one filament be connected to the brakes or turning signal and other filament stays always lighted when taillights are on. The yellow bulb shown does appear like one of those amber bulbs for turn signals except one big difference and the voltage. Likely these bulbs would had been used in an industrial application such as machinery power on indicators or some other warning use.

Long live the great old 20th century quality in electrical & lighting products!

Yes I agree only for commercial industrial indicators only before the led era
