Michaels appears to be in the process of going to LED. This location went from 4x tandem F32T8s to 2x tandem LEDs. So far, none out. But one was flipped upside down. A new concept in indirect lighting lol.

Weve got a new Hobby Lobby here that uses high wattage LED floods pointed up at the white ceiling, there are 4 fixtures mounted on each support beam throughout the store, surprisingly very close to the same light levels as the typical T8 strips in tandem you see at most department stores. I would have to guess each fixture is 80-100w, so time will only tell if these things stay bright

I'm not that confident in LEDs, look at that pic of the McDonalds parking lot. Terrible.

May all the great lighting technologies have their place in history.

I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Probably a contractor in a hurry and when finished, figured wont get noticed.

I bet this store is much dimmer now! Not only are the Philips LED tubes about half as bright as F32T8s, they cut the number of lamps in half! The store must only be 1/4 as bright as before the T8-to-LED conversion, which makes no sense, but also doesn't sound accurate since the store would be way too dim.

The Michael's near me just went from 2X F96T12 to 4X F32T8 a couple years ago so they won't be going LED here anytime soon lol. That one has a 2X4 drop ceiling grid with the 1X8 recessed lights in continuous rows.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

I hate these LED tubes with a passion. They are much worse than fluorescent in every way.

Pride and quality workmanship should lie behind manufacturing, not greed.

I will give LEDisease a taste of my shoe

The LED tubes I pictured in our local pound store, over here would look better upside down as the glare from them is awful.
