F28T5/841 cathode glow

F28T5/841 cathode glow

seems this ballast is on its way out? I've seen a few as they fail they light the cathodes real bright
Robertson 2xF28T5 ballast
also came across a unit that was running 28W lamps on 54W/HO ballasts and was working

I would think it's the lamp itself ready to go EOL.

Hmm this doesn't seem like a normal EOL to me. Maybe the ballast treats EOL lamps differently than most electronic ballasts but this just looks different. Almost like it's sputtering.

To resist is to piss in the wind, anyone who does will end up smelling.

The 28 and 54W tubes seem to last a decent time but the ballast are the let down. I've seen 28W on 54W gear and The other way around. Tridonic have now made a 28 or 54W ballast somehow it knows what lamps it's running

I find newer T5's(f14t5-f54t5) don't blacken the same at eol as older T5's
