Got this from Jeremy a while back but just got around to posting it. I actually got two of them. This one is running on a regular 14-20 choke so it's very underdriven...I was barely able to get it to start because the cathodes weren't heating up all the way.

Isn't this intended for the European version of HO ballast? Should this work with 800 mA ballast?

It really needs a pair of 14-20 chokes in parallel. The HO ballast doesn't have sufficient cathode heating voltage.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.
