McCann Lighting Mini Reflecto-Bay™ Lit

Here it is lit with a 100W HPS lamp (being underdriven of course). You can read the McCann Lighting information label too. I'm very happy with how this turned out. A proper 35W HPS lamp is on its way.

Thanks. SON E is a regulat HPS lamp right? Or does E mean "Eco"? This lamp is NOS from 1992 so it's a nice full-mercury lamp. It's a no-name lamp but I'm pretty sure it's a Philips lamp.

Ah I see. Yeah it's an E17 lamp. The etch says LU100/S54. Date is 0492 (April 1992) and it says USA under that. I don't have any fixtures taking a medium base 100w HPS lamp unfortunately. I do have a mogul base 100W HPS street light but those mogul-to-medium adapters always seem to get stuck inside the mogul sockets so I don't like to use them.

and SON-T is Tubular outer bulb and SON-E I is elliptical with internal ignitor

tbh I prefer uncoated SON lamps as it lets out the golden glow

I imagine that must be very orange, being underdriven like that. A spectral examination would be most interesting.

The 100W lamp was essentially stuck in the "warm-up phase" and was a deep orange color similar to LPS but a little more reddish I think. The 35W lamp is much brighter and less red, needless to say.

LU is also used by Sylvania but the packaging is Philips so I think the lamp is Philips (or at least made my someone else for Philips, who in turn sold it as a no-name, probably as an OEM lamp with a residential HPS fixture).
