Have some magnetic dimmable ballasts, and dimmer switches for them too.
Neat stuff for back in its day!

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

0-10V dimmer or different type of dimming ballast? I have some three-lamp 0-10V dimmable programmed start Advance T8 ballasts. Never hooked them up to a dimmer, though I do have a 0-10 dimmer. I've only used it for testing out the 0-10 dimming feature on LED street lights. Pretty cool! If you just wirenut the purple and gray leads the light will go to the lowest setting. Sometimes it's totally off but most of the time it's 5-10% original output.

To resist is to piss in the wind, anyone who does will end up smelling.

It's a line voltage dimmer. It's this ballast.

Don't be fooLED, T8 IS the worst thing to do to a magnetic T12 fixture.
