No, I have an S56 ballast but need to find the correct capacitor. I have fired one of the 250 wattaer though.

you can also light these on a 150w Pulse Start Metal Halide Ballast, ANSI type M102, in Europe they will work fine on Both 150w HPS and Metal Halide Ballast/Ignitors as European HPS Lamps operate at 100 volts 1.8 amps the same as the US LU150/S56 (LU150/100) HPS Lamps.

Its Unique to see a HPS Lamp with a Clear Arc Tube too.

Re the Capacitor you need a 20uf 280 volt Capacitor.

Yes these are rather rare and were only made for a couple years back in the mid to late 70's.
