I have the same ballast (but its not installed..just sitting in a box of random ballasts)

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

I like that it has the lamp current printed on the label. It's a good match for this fixture, since it was also made in 1990.

They should. It's usually GE and their descendants, like Valmont and Power Lighting Products.

I used to sell these ballasts, good quality.

Nothing like the beautiful cool white light of a coated Mercury Vapor lamp and the soothing hum of it's magnetic ballast.
