MagneTek 413-C-TC-P 1-Lamp F40T12/F30T12 Ballast

I took an axe to the case and somehow this came out in almost perfect condition, i suspect the metal thing that was wrapped in tape is a thermal fuse. The ballast is dead and the fuse is still intact so i'm not really sure what to do with it at this point.

Just keep the fuse. You could use it in ballasts that don't have it.
