Lilliput Post-Top with Controls

Lilliput Post-Top with Controls

Click to view full size image

This picture was actually taken in 2009 on the Rödlöga main island and the location was a place with ~35 mailboxes - probably for all holiday houses on the island.
There was electricity grid on the island (actually one pole was like 10 metres from this place) but the mesh makes me wonder if this really was an electric lantern or a gas (propane-butane) one. You can notice two "controls" (a light switch and a fuse?) (or a gas tap and a piezzo lighter button?) easily accessible even by little persons.

Update: Lantern identified as a heater. :(

That looks more like a gas heater to me, for we have these kinds of heaters here sometimes where restaurants have tables outside or even for patios at houses.

One time we at at PF Chang's China Bistro, outside at night and they had such heaters to heat the patio.

Do these heaters produce some relevant light? Because a heater only makes no sense at a place like this.

I think there is a glow from those screens, like an infra-ray, so they do provide some light. But more like a dim, background light for a relaxing atmosphere.

Ok. Here's the overall picture of the scene explaining why I didn't expect a heater but a lantern. If this really is just a heater, I'll move this to the Off Topic section.

Yeah, that's a propane patio heater. They are pretty common in the US. The ones I have seen don't have an infrared glow, they just have a big flame in the top part.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.
