Hand Heater Project :)

Hand Heater Project :)

Click to view full size image

I know it looks just horrible but that's my humble attempt to create something that would help me to "defrost" my hands after outdoor photographing etc. in freezing winter days which is a real problem for me and gloves only aren't enough. You put this to your jacket/coat pocket together with your hand and absorb the produced heat until your hand can operate again.
The wire is ~1.5 Ohm so the power is like 6.4W. The circuit is activated by inserting the last from 8 batteries. (I abandoned the idea of using a switch as the heating might turn on by accident.)

Theoretically - if those batteries really were 2300mAh, it should work for 3hr 25min. I'd expect like 1/2 or 2/3 of that time though.
