D size Duracell battery, leaked on the side

D size Duracell battery, leaked on the side

As I've seen that my Maglite LED 2D, flickering, I pulled out the batteries only to find this one leaking and swelling on the side. Both are also swelled on the + side.

The exp date of the batteries is Mar 2018, and Duracell batteries are know to bulge at the + side. All of my defective Duracell batteries have this problem. I don't know what this is happening. This is the reason why I buy only Toshiba now (Which are made in Japan).

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.
