Ice Cream Oddity!!!!!!!

I like unusual old electric things!
This is an old ice cream truck music box. I'm guessing it's from the early 1950s because it has vacuum tubes and runs on 6VDC. I think most trucks produced in the states had 12v electric systems starting in the mid 1950s.

Is that a music box type player, like the disc has little prongs that pluck the tuning pins of various sizes?

Yes it is and none of the pins are broken! The amplifier part needs some work tho, all I get is a constant loud buzz from the speaker.

Nice! Yes, needs capacitors. I'd be happy to help with that if you ever wanted it working again.

Wow! However did you find such a thing?

I collect exit signs, preferably vintage ones.

I also have a little bit of a thing for light bulbs, too. Of course, hoarding them due to the incandescent bulb ban.
