Courier calamity, this neon beacon lamp has lost a couple of loops. The unit is from 1995 but replacement lamps seem to be hard to find.

That's really a shame. However these used to be made for GEC by the old glassblower Fred Porter in Bristol, who ran a neon sign shop. Any good neon producer should be able to repair it for you and salvage the electrodes and end caps.

What was the packaging like..? Considering what happened to Oliver's 8ft tube, it would seem packing skills are at a premium, not many people seem to have them

Looks like someone needs a slap for a poor packing job!!

Don't be fooLED, T8 IS the worst thing to do to a magnetic T12 fixture.

The lamp was in the complete and heavy unit but unfortunately was sprung out its supports in transit. The beacon glass enclosure survived but the transformer tray buckled slightly but straightened out ok.
