In the basement of an old Asheville, NC Woolworth's store (now an art gallery). Note unusual spring loaded flat plate sockets visible on a fixture with missing end cover. Looks like riveted phenolic (circuit board material).

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

Glad you all like this. I was hoping some vintage lighting would still be in place on the main floor, but they replaced whatever was there with some industrial-looking globe-type MH fixtures. And typical for poorly maintained low wattage MH installations, the output of these was dim and colors weren't consistent. On the bright side, they still had the Woolworth's lunch counter and some nice down-rod globe fixtures above it that were either original from the 50s or period correct.

I would sooo love to get my hands on some of these fixtures! I love slimlines especially the 8'!

Love dresses, make-up and just crazy about fluorescent lighting!!  Keep those T12's and magnetic ballasts alive!!
