I got 8 of these tubes, two tubes for each color in total four colors. This is the yellow one. Pretty vibrant colors on these tubes, it hurts my eyes to look at them directly.

Nice blast of colour on the LG homepage at the moment with these coloured tubes! You have two different versions here - the top was made by Sylvania itself at Erlangen, the lower one was made by Narva at Brand-Erbisdorf.

Yes, they're impressive, never really been as into fluorescent tubes as a lot of people here, but the different coloured ones do look good, I have to admit

Question: Why do they use yellow pigmented glass for yellow tubes, but they use colored phosphor blends for other colors?

New lighting technologies is a pity fest everywhere you look. From LEDs that last only for two months, to a never-ending global starvation of t8 fluorescent tubes.
We shall reinforce ourselves with good old full mercury t12s and HIDs made to surpass one's life, and give them all the middle finger ;

Not sure, I think it has to do with the colour you're trying to generate. Some can't be done with phosphors, hence the pigments.
