Classic railway crossing lights with low-voltage incandescents

These have been the same for decades. About a half to one second fade-ins and fade-outs must mean a pretty thick filament, thus a low-voltage bulb, I suppose.

That reminds me of the old [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgJJoRJQOdg] USSR made signals {/url} widely used here before the boxy AZD's...

But the AZD97 is already the newer type, with an electroinic "bell", so it sounds through the complete "closed" state.
The older ones (AZD 72) hadn't the white frame line, the plate "Pozor vlak" (= something like "Caution, train") was separately mounted (not part of the face plate as on the 97 model) and the bell sounded just for a short time after it closes.
