So, as you can see, the thing I was talking on the 300 watt lamp a bit earlier , the base is e40 but it is not skirted to accommodate the thick glass stem, instead they just thinned the glass stem, to fit inside the unskirted base. As a result, the base is glued slanted to the side, so the lamp looks crooked when screwed in. Also, the etch.

Yes, sometimes due to poor tuning this happened on different lamps. It is possible that such lamps got into circulation due to the great need and, as a result, not too strict quality control.
